Jonatan “Jon” Rodriguez has recently graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Music Performance where he studied under Dr. Jeremy Hunt. At the age of 10, Jonatan began singing in church, and later led to him taking piano lesson. After graduating high school, he attend Valencia College, earning his Associates with a concentration in music. During this time he led and organized a couple of contemporary worship bands, one in which he played bass and keyboard. Jon has also held several church soloist section leader positions: St. Peter and Paul Catholic Cathedral, Park Lake Presbytarian, Kress Seventh Day Adventist church, St. Richards Episcopal church and currently at Trinity Episcopal Church. A music student of nearly 12 years, Jonatan is no stranger to the stage. Recent performances also included “The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses” with the Orlando Philharmonic, Tosca with Opera Orlando, Grimmly Ever After (Prince, King Teufel), The Merry Widow (Nejgus), and Opera Tampa’s (La Traviata, Romeo et Juilette, Cenerentola, and Tosca).
As a teacher and working musician, Jonatan strives to incorporate professional experience into a practical approach for young aspiring artist. Creating a fun progressive environment through technique and motivation, allows students to maintain a passion for music. Giving students the tools to be well rounded and inspired performs is the number one goal.
